2022-08-22

On August 4, with a long whistle, a China-Europe freight train carrying 100 standard containers departed from Guangzhou International Port. The train will leave the country and head to Europe via the Manzhouli port, with a total distance of more than 10,000 kilometers and a running time of about 15 days. The dispatch of this train marked the official opening of the China-Europe train station in Guangzhou International Port, and the Guangzhou China-Europe train (international port) entered normal operation.

Guangzhou International Port (Guangzhou Railway Container Center Station) is located in Jianggao Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou City. It will be put into trial operation at the end of December 2021. It is a key project of railway cargo transportation in the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" plan, and is currently the only railway container center in Guangdong. stand. Among them, the China-Europe freight train supervision site covers an area of about 550 mu, and the first phase has a warehouse of 12,000 square meters, including international container area, reefer container area, unpacking area, empty container area, repair container area, etc. The station conditions are at the first-class level in China. The current annual container processing capacity is 500,000 TEUs, and the long-term capacity can reach 900,000 TEUs.

Guangzhou is the central city of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, one of the three major international aviation hubs in China, and Nansha Port, an important foreign trade hub port in South China, with convenient transportation and developed commerce. The transportation cost of the China-Europe freight train is lower than that of air transportation, the transportation time is shorter than that of sea transportation, and it is less affected by weather factors, which effectively makes up for the gaps other than aviation and shipping logistics.

Guangzhou Branch of China Railway United International Container Co., Ltd., the operator of Guangzhou International Port, expressed its initial intention to apply for a supervision site to Guangzhou Station Customs, which is affiliated to Guangzhou Customs. Guangzhou Customs attaches great importance to it, organizes special personnel to follow up, guides enterprises to carry out construction in accordance with relevant standards, and proposes optimization and improvement suggestions for freight sites. Recently, the supervision site of China-Europe freight trains in Guangzhou International Port has successfully passed the examination and approval of Guangzhou Station Customs.

In order to promote the high-quality development of China-Europe freight trains, Guangzhou Station Customs continues to optimize the customs clearance environment, comprehensively promote convenient customs clearance measures, give full play to the advantages of "smart customs" supervision, provide "one-stop" services, continuously shorten customs clearance time, and smooth "sea and public transportation". Since the supervision of the first Guangzhou China-Europe freight train in August 2016, a total of 594 China-Europe freight trains have been supervised and operated.

"Guangzhou Customs conscientiously implements the relevant measures of the General Administration of Customs to support the development of China-Europe freight trains and the ten measures to promote the stability and improvement of foreign trade, improve the efficiency of inbound and outbound logistics, actively support enterprises to carry out railway 'quick customs clearance' business, and closely cooperate with customs at front-line railway ports. Improve the facilitation level of railway logistics in the domestic section. At the same time, adhere to services such as '24-hour customs clearance appointment' and 'special window for train handling' to facilitate enterprises to go through customs procedures, strengthen guidance for enterprises to optimize the structure of import and export commodities, and improve the speed of goods turnover." Guangzhou Xie Wanlin, head of the customs supervision department at the station, said that since July, the number of supply companies for China-Europe trains has continued to increase, and the proportion of high-end electronic products from companies along the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor has also further increased.

After Guangzhou China-Europe Railway Express (International Port) enters normal operation, regional linkage with the original Guangzhou China-Europe Railway Express (Dalang) will promote the accelerated formation of a cargo distribution logistics center in the South China area of China-Europe Railway Express, and give full play to Guangzhou's "sea port" and "" The dual-engine advantage of the "Airport" logistics hub links the Nansha Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone, the Guangzhou Air-Railway Integration Economic Demonstration Zone and other regions, and strives to build a multimodal transport with air-rail, rail-rail, and highway-rail combined transport as the context. The network layout will promote the expansion of the business scale of trade cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the countries along the "Belt and Road", and form a development pattern of internal and external linkage, production and sales connection, complementary advantages and mutual promotion.

In the first half of this year, Guangzhou Station Customs has supervised a total of 132 China-Europe trains, which has exceeded the number of trains opened in the whole year of last year, creating a new high in business volume since the launch of Guangzhou China-Europe trains on August 8, 2016, helping the trains form "8 out of 4" The normal operation of a total of 12 lines of "Into" connects more than 30 cities in more than 20 countries and regions in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, West Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, providing a stable international logistics channel for more than 1,500 foreign trade enterprises.

The relevant person in charge of Guangzhou Customs said that the Customs will continue to seize the opportunity to support Guangzhou International Port and Nansha Port Railway Station to carry out the China-Europe freight train business, and guide enterprises to make full use of the China-Europe freight train, a new international land-sea trade channel, to carry out multimodal transport. Improve the level of train assembly, boost the expansion and development of China-Europe trains, further strengthen the economic and trade exchanges between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", and make every effort to promote the stability and improvement of foreign trade.
